Description and context

The Faculty of Education at the Universitat de Barcelona offers a postgraduate program in E-Accessibility in Educational Resources (EARED), which started in October 2021. It is among the pioneering formal proposals in higher education related to digital accessibility, targeted at Spanish-speaking professionals and teachers from various disciplinary areas, including education, communication, design, social sciences, and visual production. The program also caters to developers, businessmen, and entrepreneurs.

Digital accessibility is important because it promotes inclusivity, complies with legal and ethical obligations, offers business benefits, fosters innovation, and reflects a human-centric approach to design and development. It ensures that individuals with disabilities can access and benefit from digital content, promotes equal opportunities, and demonstrates commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Strategy and Challenge

Our research involved thorough analysis of both mainstream media and social networking sites to pinpoint relevant opportunities. Examples of such outlets included GN Diario, ByTic Media, Silicon, and Éxito Educativo, which aligned with the focus on digital accessibility in educational resources. This targeted approach ensured that our campaign reached the right audience and maximized the impact of our efforts. We also identified advertising opportunities in relevant magazines and education channels.
